Hello all! Thanks for stopping by to read my review on the above book- The Goblin King by Heather Killough-Walden. I wasn't aware that she would be releasing this book so soon, so it was quite a surprise to see that she had, I was excited to give it a listen, as I enjoyed the other books in this series so far, and really am looking forward to hearing about the rest of the King's and their Queen's. :) This book was good, like the others and has the same reader as the other ones as well, so it was a nice comfortable, familiar feeling. I really enjoyed hearing more about Damon and meeting his Queen, Diana. She is very unique, like all the other queens and in this one, her abilities paid off big time! ;) No spoilers from me though! Anyway, from Heather's website, it seems that her future Kings books are going to be coming much later than anticipated, so... mph! I'll keep busy! ;)

Well, hello! I'm here to bring you all my opinion on the above book, which is book 2 in The Bad Boys series by M. Leighton. I had finished book 1 prior to this one and enjoyed it, pretty much, and was looking forward to this one and it was pretty good, too! A fun, funny, steamy and very unpredictable series, this is turning out to be! I'm looking forward to when book 3 is in my hot little hands so I can give it a listen too. Like I said about book 1, there are a lot of secrets and people could and probably do, spout off tons of spoilers, but I won't do this! Just know that this is a very fun and exciting book, and there are a lot of holy cow, wtf moments that will leave your mind blown! LOL! I encourage anyone to pick up this series, it's an easy read/listen and I found myself laughing quite a bit, it was cheeky and clever! This book was read the same way the first one was, bouncing back and forth between Cash and Olivia's point of view, both being read by the same people who read the other one, female and male, so it was familiar and nice! Anyway, I got a book recently that I didn't think would be released any time soon and am really looking forward to getting further into it, so I'm going to make this fast! ;) Good book! Go, read it! heh!

Hello, hello! I'm checking in with my review of the above book- Down To You by M. Leighton. It was read by a female and a male duo, which, I am starting to really enjoy that particular format, and the point of view switching and voice switching. This one was read by Kate Rudd and Benjamin Darcie. Both voices were excellent and they each read wonderfully. This book was pretty good, VERY twisty and turny, so I won't go into details and spoil the major ending and plot twist! Just know that it's worth it and it's a super fun and ultra sexy book! I loved all aspects of this book except for one major scene, which I can't really mention w/o completely blowing the whole book for you all- which I don't want to do, just know that it was silly beyond belief! LOL! Anyway, this is a good start to a series that I'm looking forward to continuing! I have book 2 loaded up on my mp3 player and really am excited to start it! :)

Hello, hello! I'm back with my review of Release Me, which is book #1 in the Stark Trilogy by J. Kenner. Apparently, even on Goodreads (^^^^), they are shelving this book along side other books like 50 Shades and Bared To You... although to be quite honest with you, this wasn't as good as either books! It was OK... don't get me wrong, I did end up giving it 4 stars! But really, I've listened to this type of book a million times before... bazillionaire man (who flies, nonetheless), obsessed w/ mid level half way pretty and strong willed woman... blah blah, both have emotional/mental scars, both just can't seem to LIVE w/o one another... yanno. The same ol' song and dance! Like I said, I've plowed through tons of these types of books and they're all relatively entertaining with some pretty smokin' hot scenes. There were only a couple of things that bothered me with this book, one being a major Booooh! is that it's in 1st person, I just hate the I, me, etc! It's kinda funky, as a lot of books aren't written this way! Also, the reader; Sofia Willingham, I don't personally recall ever hearing her read before (looking up her names proves my point) but she sounded really familiar and had this breathy whisper she took on during sex scenes which was slightly creepy. I didn't really prefer her reading voice and is kinda bleh'd out by the fact that she reads all the rest of the books in this series! Ugh! Another thing that bugged me, towards the end, (I gotta be blunt here... no way around it) Damien and Nikki are involved in some errrr.... uhhhh... well, 'anal sex' and to be quite honest, it's so ridiculously described that I honestly can tell that the author merely googled it to write the part in her book for an extra bit of somethin' somethin'! It's honestly NOTHING like this book describes it. Just to let you all know that! Hahahah! No, that isn't fair... I mean I guess it COULD be vaguely similar, but yeah... just really... not accurate at all! Anywho, the book clearly left the ending wide open for another book, which there are two others so far, that I'm sure I will be listening to as well after this one and don't really have any high expectations regarding the content or writing style or anything. I'm sure it will be the same thing I've just listened to, but just the two characters in different scenarios and situations. I'm sure we will get to know Nikki and Damien a little more, learn more about why they 'tick', per say but I'm really hoping that there aren't anymore poorly developed scenes like the anal sex scene! :X

A good start, hoping the next book is even better!

Hi all! Me again! Back so soon?? Well yes, these darn books are pretty short! This one was barely 6.5 hours long! :( Anyway, I wasn't sure that I would go on to book 3 in this series, but I'm slowly falling a little bit on love with it! LOL! This one is book 3 of The Kings series by Heather Killough-Walden (what a name!) and it was about the Warlock King... hence the book title! ;) It was pretty good, and the epilogue at the end touched on the Goblin King and his mini introduction and... well, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it! I'm interested to know more! I guess that makes it a pretty OK book? I will await it's release on audiobook format and bide my time listening to other books! :) I've just taken a short minute to go glance at this author's website and I think I might be waiting on the rest of the Kings books' in this series for a long, long time. Apparently she's taking a break from writing, is overwhelmed with health/allergy issues and that's kind of a bummer. But I guess if a writer is passionate about writing, it will come to them, regardless of their lack of interest in writing! I hope the Kings haunt her dreams! heheh! That might spur her into writing more books about them. BUT, writers are only human, this I understand, and releasing books to the masses and expecting book after book, is probably very well and true.... A LOT OF PRESSURE! I couldn't handle it! I barely like having the pressure of several custom graphics orders at once, like blog makeovers and blinkies before my brain kind of shuts itself down and says NOPE, NO MORE! Though that pales in comparison to famous authors, I can empathize a wee bit! ;) So I wish I would have read and known about her "break" before getting emotionally invested in these characters, lol! Further and further I was allowing myself to get into these stories and this one was an alright one. Granted, they are a bit fast paced for me, she crams a lot of a lot into these short books, and adds just soooo much information and the smexy smexy scenes feel rushed and like they could be just SO MUCH MORE! These books could be so much more, I know they could, so I hold out... until then! ;) I enjoyed meeting Jason and Chloe! It was funny how Chloe fought Jason the whole time and then all of a sudden realized, yeah, he might be for me! LOL! and his nickname for her, Stardust, is just... perfection. :) I am not sure I would suggest this series to people as it's probably going to remain an unfinished series, or the next books will be few and far between. Not a lot of readers really like that type of scenario! And these books on audio would have to be for the hardcore listeners, because this Antony Ferguson really makes it difficult to listen to! ;) I'm hoping that Heather feels better come fall and winter and she can find it in her to write more Kings books! :)

Hi all! Just finished up this book tonight, The Phantom King... #2 in The Kings series by Heather Killough-Walden. Read, once again, but the quirky sounding Antony Ferguson. His reading didn't quite bother me this time around, which I think had something to do with the fact that he read the first book as well, and I listened to that one directly before this one. I recall not really preferring the first book, thought it might have something to do with "first book syndrome" lol! Even if they aren't a newbie author, sometimes books in a series just have that curse on them! ;) But... I am happy to report that I really did enjoy this book and it was much better than the first book, in my opinion. There still is a bit to learn and take in and REMEMBER (most importantly, I think) but it was pretty much all crammed into the first book, so with this one, you are kind of feeling like you know a bit more about the characters and whatnot. This is actually a really good start to series that I'm finding myself kind of excited to follow. There will obviously be 13 books in the series, if not more, based on "The Kings". Each of the kings rule over a paranormal type of myth/legend/creature... like the first one was the Vampire king... this one was the Phantom king, ruling over the dead and so on and so forth. In each book they are giving a bit more detail into the other kings and I'm finding myself looking forward to particular kings' books! Like the Frost king sounds interesting! ;) But like I said, this was about Thanatos, the Phantom king. And the name is either coincidence or a nod towards Death of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse... not sure if Walden meant it that way or not? But the way the reader, Ferguson, read Than's name literally almost killed me. Like every.single.time!!! Gah! Obviously, the reader is quite british and his accent is extremely thick and its just how he says certain words like GAR-AGE, oh my gosh, just kills me! And so of course this book has to be one of those cliche girl-loves-cars book (you know the ones I'm talking about...) so GARAGE was like every other paragraph... *sigh* so yeah, the reader slaughters the pronouncing of the name Thanatos, putting the emphasis on the wrong syllables and whatnot. Literally kills me!

Okay... moving along. So how do we get the sound of SHA-VON from the spelling of "Siobhan" I mean, like honestly? How does that even WORK?! Luckily I don't READ the books, I just LISTEN, but every time someone said her name in the book, the spelling immediately popped into my head... IDK. But those are just weird, goofy things about me. Those things have nothing to do with the book, LOL! :P I'm just a dork. Okay, so moving right along... oh! Speaking of moving along, this one (like the first book) went along mighty quickly. It was like one minute they meet, the next they bump uglies, then, TA DA, they are WED? WTF? And it even popped into her mind for a second that it sounds a little quick to her. But, she gives into the big hunka-hunka burnin' love! I have to admit, these books need more hot n heavy. They are a little TOO quick for me, barely registering at 7 hours total, so pretty short books, relatively, and though I really am starting to enjoy the really fantastic detail and writing style, there are still some parts that bounce back and forth between the present of the book or swap between points of view and "reverse" the plot to do so... it throws things off a bit. I understand WHY she does this in writing, but it sometimes doesn't really translate well when you have such a short book. Those moments could be skipped over and  and more chemistry between the characters could be built up. After getting over the shock of the complete non-existent bond between the Vampire king and his queen in the first book, I was surprised to see more interaction between Than and Siobhan (I can't even spell that without tripping out... but I digress...) and it was a nice change. Anyway. Enough late night rambling from me. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the books in this series! :)

Hello, hello! So... thought I would try out another Sylvia Day book... this is apparently an older one (2007?!) which I wasn't really aware of when I was browsing, I guess I don't pay attention to those details! LOL! There are only 2 books in this Dream Guardian series, so apparently this is it? Since book 2 looks as though it was published in 2007 as well! Hmph! Anyway, this one had an insane crazy cliff hanger ending, which makes me scramble for book 2, but no... it wasn't THAT good. I mean, I will read book 2 EVENTUALLY, but I have more pressing books to devour at the moment... So. Sylvia Day... she goes Gideon and Eva pretty well (Crossfire series)... VERY well actually, I'm pretty fond of them... and then there is her crazy angel theme'd books... *head shake* So this book sounded pretty interesting, and it WAS, but this was one of those "reader ruins the books" situation. Oh holy smokes! Shana Savage was the reader and I just have to say, Irish brogue is NOT her thing! Like... really, NO. It was killing me the whole time, I mean I think it would have really benefited from having a hearty male reader reading this like, oh say... Holter Graham or even the equally lovely Fred Berman, but this chick... yeah... it was NOT working out at all. It was the opposite of working out actually! *snort* The story was really interesting and neat, and like I said earlier, total cliff hanger ending, making it extremely difficult to focus on anything else, but reaching out for book 2 (hell, I MAY just give a go, not sure yet)... So the male character, Aidan, had sooo much potential, and the sexy sexy times were out of this world (though with too much repetitive phrases like *coughCOCKcough* which could have used some variety...) but the narrator just really killed it! :/ Sadly! It happens to good books sometimes! Anyway... not sure what's next... I got my hot little hands on LKH, so we'll see! ;)

Hello! :) I'm back with my review of the 6th book in the Wicked Lovers series by Shayla Black. I had listened to books 1-3 one right after the other and then took a pretty long break before barreling through books 4-6. Let me tell you, out of all 6 of the books, I liked this one the best, I think. It wasn't too long (like I felt the last book {5} was) and it didn't seem like it went on and on without interest. This one held my interest the whole time. I didn't mind this plot either, it was actually kind of neat, how Tyler and Delaney (which is such a cute name) knew one another and had some freak encounter (no spoilers!) back a couple of years ago which leads them to the point they are at in the book... it was pretty smokin' hot too! I enjoyed it! Which is surprising because the books in this series were either hit or miss with me, and the majority were 'miss'. Anyway. I'm excited to be moving on from this series, starting a new book and being introduced to new characters and plots! :)

So...hi! First and foremost.... WHAT THE FUCK?! Honestly... this book took me FOREVER (nod towards book title) to get into, one of the more harder ones by Frank for me to really sink my teeth into, and then once I was into it... BAM! It's fucking OVER! This book wasn't even 9 hours long!!! Just shy, coming in at 8 hours and 56!!!!!!!!! minutes! Gah! This isn't typical of Frank, so if this is your first go 'round with her audiobooks (it sure isn't mine, I'm a Frank follower LOL!), have no fear, they generally aren't this... short and stout, yanno, like a flippin' tea pot! Ugh! So here we are with the 2nd book in her spin off of the Nightwalkers- the WORLD of Nightwalkers... it's supposedly to tie all the different "types" of Nightwalkers together, and I can just see that tiny itty bitty sparkle of that happening, but by gods, it's taking literally forever (another nod at the book title! *snort*) and it's almost painful in it's slowness! Hmmm, I would suggest to anyone to read her books very slowly and to draw them out because if you go at them like I have, devouring them, you'll be stuck craving MORE MORE MORE while poor Mizzzzz Frank is hustling and bustling trying to crank out book after book. (please don't burst my bubble in telling me she isn't hustling, OR bustling, because in my fantasy land authors are like mindless, heartless machines who only exist for our reading/listening pleasure!) So yeah. This takes place directly after the 1st book in this series did and moves along rather slowly until a huge door is slammed in your face saying NOPE! NO MORE! Bleh! Haven't had that feeling, well, ever, with a Frank book, so it was startling! I can see where it's going and I am looking forward to the next one, but by gods, I tell ya *shakes fist maniacally* it better not have an ending like this one! anyway... I just bought C.J. Roberts newest e-book, and even though I HATE reading, I have it loaded up on my tablet ready to completely engross my life, so off I go!!!! :D Soooo excited!

Hello hello! So... even though this was an eagerly awaited third book in the Crossfire Series and was HOT HOT HOT beyond measure, some parts and aspects of this book really were MEH for me! :( About 4 chapters in, I just got sooo tired of the "lifestyles of the rich and famous" attitude and descriptions and it got very old, very fast! I get it, everyone's rich and insanely gorgeous... is there anything else that is worthy of mentioning? Anything... at all?! *sigh* Of course I am familiar with Gideon and Eva, have read the other two books and really loved them a lot, but this one for some reason kinda struck a strange cord within me. It was like... when will the "honeymoon phase" or the "infatuation phase" end? And I don't mean honeymoon because of...errrr... ummm... yanno (no spoilers!) I just mean this insane goo-goo gah gah that Eva has for Gideon! It takes "love at first sight" to a kind of annoying sickly sweet creeptastic level that I am getting kind of bored with! I understand she likes him, and he likes her, but really now, people! Get over it! LOL! And I guess it makes sense because essentially these books plot-wise really only cover a span of months, like maybe 3 months? So I guess the "FIRE" is still burnin' and alive but it just is getting a little meh for me! :/ And... when was the act of rape ever been seen as a proper "cure all" for a PTSD rape victim...?! I mean really!? I dunno, maybe NEVER? Yeah, probably never. And this book just abruptly ended, like I honestly felt like it was just the end of a chapter, and I would wait a couple seconds and the familiar voice of Jill Redfield (who's a decent narrator) would continue on but nope! It just stopped! And I guess there is a note at the end of the book explaining and I've been reading on her Facebook that a 4th book is on its way, but holy smokes, talk about just a utter and complete let down. The end of the book didn't answer questions, ease any tensions- nuthin'! Just left me kinda hanging and wanting a lot more steamy scenes! LOL! I do have to give this book THAT much credit- it was HOT... steamy, smokin' hot! Which I expect from Day anyway, her other books were pretty hot, but this one pushed a few more limits and took one tiny little step out of the vanilla flavor, which was very nice! ;) Anyway, of course I will go on to read book 4 when it's released, but the semi-bad taste of this one needs to be replaced for me!

I have lots of books loaded up on my mp3 player, so I have to decide what is next... we'll see!! ;)

Hello again! I actually finished this a day or so ago and have already started on book 3 in the series, but am just now getting around to reviewing this one! Absolution is book 2 in the Penton Legacy, and it is by Susannah Sandlin, read by Amy McFadden, whom is slightly familiar, but her name doesn't stand out or ring a bell for me, so I guess I can say it's a first hearing her read. I enjoyed the first book in this series, and really enjoyed this second one too. The story/plot sort of picks up where the first one left off, but there's a different "bad guy" in this one, although still tied into the main overall plot, so the bad guy in this one was mentioned briefly in the first book, so we all know who the main players are in these stories by now. From the first book, I knew I was going to love Mirren and his story, which I was happy to learn book 2 was about! I loved whom Sandlin paired Mirren with as well- who happens to be Glory, a southern no nonsense kinda chick. The heat was turned up a tiny bit compared to the first book, which I loved, but STILL with the infernal cell phone ringing at the most inopportune times! WTF is up with that, anyway? LOL! Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I noticed it in this book too, as I did in the first book lol! Now it's burned into my brain and when it happens in the 3rd book, it's going to make me go GAHHHH! I'm sure! heh! Anyway, this book was just overall good for me. It didn't blow me away, wasn't OMG outstanding, but a good, decent listen that moved along steadily and kept me interested. I loved hearing about Mirren's why's how's and when's of his life and Glory's "gift" was very neat to listen to as well! Like I said, I have already started book 3, will be giving it a little listen here shortly while starting some household chores, so I'll be back in a couple of days with that review too! :) Thanks for reading!

Hello! Late last night I finished a really neat book called Redemption. It's by Susannah Sandlin, whom I'd never heard of and read by someone else I'd never heard of; Angela Dawe. By the end of the book, I was enjoying Dawe's reading voice, it was nice, but was kinda bummed to find out that she's not reading book 2 in this series, which I started, briefly, last night. So this book was interesting. The way they set up the "story line". How there was a vaccination for humans and most humans got it, which turns their blood to poison for vampires. Kinda neat! And I guess the vamps can "smell" if the human's gotten the vaccine or not so that is helpful hahahah! The characters are fairly interesting in this book. It had a lot to say! It told a couple of stories, one main story about the main male character Aidan, which was relatively interesting too. I wasn't completely blown away but was drawn in and stayed fairly interested in it. The whole Stockholm syndrome thing was slightly annoying... the Dr Krystal Harris (that name, terrible!) was pretty much kidnapped and she pretty much talked herself into staying and that it was okay, even after a exceptionally unremarkable "first time" (s.e.x) with the main vampire character. Kind of odd the way Sandlin described their first time having...errr... relations. It sounded like a couple of minute of rutting around, poking, hip flexing and well, it was over! And WTF was up with his cell phone always ringing right after? I get it, he's a busy man. But can't a guy have some afterglow?! *shrug* Anyway... like I said, I started book 2, so will keep on with the series!

This might be a bit closer to a 3.5, but I'll give it a 4 because I never made .5 graphics! heh!
