Hello, Hello! I'm here for my review of the 5th book in the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley, read by Cris Dukehart- who read the other books in the series as well, which I've also read. It took me several books to really get into this series, but after 5 of them now, I can say that I really do enjoy it a lot! We got to meet the main character- Tiger, in the previous book to this one, book 4, towards the very end and it was a great book too, so I knew with the title Tiger Magic, that this would be enjoyable too! I loved getting to know Tiger a little more and think that whom he was paired with, Carly, was perfect. She was a great, well rounded female counterpart to Tiger. In the last book, we were in a different shifter town, well, actually the last TWO books took place in a different shifter town that had characters who knew one another/were friends, so the series has sort of hopped back and forth, which keeps things interesting, but on a sort of skimming the waters type scenario. You get a feel for the shifter towns and of the main characters homes and outlying homes of characters who play a small part in the books, but you're not completely overwhelmed and bogged down by details that might cause a person to become disinterested in the series. So I think Ashley does a fine job at these shifter books and I'm glad that I was able to take a good break between this book and the last, but not a long enough break that I forgot about the characters and little nuances of the towns. :) I wouldn't suggest anyone read this series back to back like I did the first 4 books, LOL! I got pretty tired of them pretty fast, but after a short break between 3 and 4 and then a longer break between 4 and 5, and this one brought the fondness back for sure! :) A great paranormal, shifter series! :)

Hi all! Back with another review! I actually and right down the middle, on the fence about this series as a whole. I'm ALMOST totally over shifters and the like, honestly! But I REALLY liked this book and really am starting to grow more fond of the characters that keep reoccurring. So... see my dilemma!? I am kind of getting into a book funk, which is a bummer. I want a good, meaty series that I can really sink my teeth into right now, and this one SORT OF has that, but then it's kind of 'getting old'. After, what? this is the 4th books... I think I need a little change of pace, but am not sure where I want to go... vamps? humans with emotional baggage? *sigh* I just don't know! There are several books that are releasing VERY soon that I'm really looking forward to listening to, but they are out RIGHT NOW at this very moment, which makes me sort of sad! :( It doesn't appear that the next book is anywhere near audiobook format (and if it were out right now I would definitely go after it because it's about the new tiger shifter we met in this 4th book, I'm REALLY looking forward to reading about him!) so I'll be searching for new series shortly! This book was pretty good though, same reader- Cris Dukehart, she's pretty okay now and the same shifter town as the last book, which I mentioned in my other review really made this series feel fresh and new! Great move on Ashley's part! ;) The main characters were the leader of the shifter town, Eric and his half shifter half human mate Iona. They were matched perfectly I think! We had heard of the two characters in the previous book, Eric had started his "hunt" of Iona and it was so neat to see it coalesce into this book, I liked it a lot! :) This one has a lot of adventure and "explanations" in it as well- a lot of plot to kind of fill in the gaping holes of HUH?! LOL! But yeah, I liked it a lot! :) Sadly my poor mp3 player has about seen it's last days! Eeeeep! I'm going to be order a new one in the next couple of days, so that is sort of exciting! The one I have no is literally what? 5 years old?! Could be! I love it and I will miss it! hehe! :) Anyway, until next time!

Hiya all! Me again! Here with my review of Wild Cat, which is book 3 in the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley, read to me by Cris Dukehart (who's read another book in this same series as well). Now, I haven't really given these books really high ratings as they are just kinda Meh for me, but I really liked this one! Ashley took the reader OUT of the environment/shifter town that the previous two books resided in, and brought us to another shifter town in another state with different leaders and characters, but obviously the same concept/"world". I really enjoyed that! It almost breathed fresh, new life into the series for me. When I thought it was just going to go along the same path as the other books before it, it's really made things a lot more interesting and fun for me, which is why I rated this book higher than any of the others. The reading was by the same person who read the last book, so her voice is starting to sound familiar and okay for me and the timing and everything while she reads is really evening out and becoming a nice listen. I enjoyed the main characters in this one as well, Cassidy is a good, strong alpha female, which is a little different than the other books which focused more so, on the alpha males. The mate she finds in Diego is a good pairing, I think. They seem pretty good for one another! :) I am loading up book 4 because I think it's going to be about Cassidy's brother Eric and Illona, which is going to be interesting! ;) We shall see!

Hi all! I'm back with my review on the second book in the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley called Primal Bonds, read by Cris Dukehart. The reading was fine, a little off putting with the rhythm, but not the worst I've ever heard, fairly mediocre. Actually, everything about this book was mediocre. It wasn't spectacular and just run of the mill. I'm actually looking for something pretty spectacular right now... After finishing this one, I attempted to start book 3 which started out slightly different, but is read by the same person as this one was, so it kinda, right from the start put me off thinking I was going to stay on the same mediocre train... I'm just not feelin' it for this series. Book 1 started out interesting enough, I think I called that one run of the mill as well, and book 2 was pretty just meh. Nothing too exciting happened, other than the predictable 'mate frenzy'. It had it's ups and downs, I guess, a tiny bit of who done it / action, but nothing that kept me on the edge of my seat, or reaching for my mp3 player at all hours. It was sort of a snooze fest! LOL! The 'shifting' aspect is pretty cool, but after the first book, it's all pretty predictable and sorta kinda 'meh'. Not the worst book, not the best book, and def didn't blow my socks off. I'm in desperate need of something to blow my socks off at this point because the last several books I've listened to, I've been overwhelmingly under impressed! :(

...and I'm not really sure what I'm going to start next. I gave a wee listen to Book 3 in this series, but got kinda meh'd out, so I started Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning... not sure which I'm going to go with at this point... ho hum!
