Hello all! Thanks for stopping by to read my review on the above book- The Goblin King by Heather Killough-Walden. I wasn't aware that she would be releasing this book so soon, so it was quite a surprise to see that she had, I was excited to give it a listen, as I enjoyed the other books in this series so far, and really am looking forward to hearing about the rest of the King's and their Queen's. :) This book was good, like the others and has the same reader as the other ones as well, so it was a nice comfortable, familiar feeling. I really enjoyed hearing more about Damon and meeting his Queen, Diana. She is very unique, like all the other queens and in this one, her abilities paid off big time! ;) No spoilers from me though! Anyway, from Heather's website, it seems that her future Kings books are going to be coming much later than anticipated, so... mph! I'll keep busy! ;)

Hi all! Me again! Back so soon?? Well yes, these darn books are pretty short! This one was barely 6.5 hours long! :( Anyway, I wasn't sure that I would go on to book 3 in this series, but I'm slowly falling a little bit on love with it! LOL! This one is book 3 of The Kings series by Heather Killough-Walden (what a name!) and it was about the Warlock King... hence the book title! ;) It was pretty good, and the epilogue at the end touched on the Goblin King and his mini introduction and... well, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it! I'm interested to know more! I guess that makes it a pretty OK book? I will await it's release on audiobook format and bide my time listening to other books! :) I've just taken a short minute to go glance at this author's website and I think I might be waiting on the rest of the Kings books' in this series for a long, long time. Apparently she's taking a break from writing, is overwhelmed with health/allergy issues and that's kind of a bummer. But I guess if a writer is passionate about writing, it will come to them, regardless of their lack of interest in writing! I hope the Kings haunt her dreams! heheh! That might spur her into writing more books about them. BUT, writers are only human, this I understand, and releasing books to the masses and expecting book after book, is probably very well and true.... A LOT OF PRESSURE! I couldn't handle it! I barely like having the pressure of several custom graphics orders at once, like blog makeovers and blinkies before my brain kind of shuts itself down and says NOPE, NO MORE! Though that pales in comparison to famous authors, I can empathize a wee bit! ;) So I wish I would have read and known about her "break" before getting emotionally invested in these characters, lol! Further and further I was allowing myself to get into these stories and this one was an alright one. Granted, they are a bit fast paced for me, she crams a lot of a lot into these short books, and adds just soooo much information and the smexy smexy scenes feel rushed and like they could be just SO MUCH MORE! These books could be so much more, I know they could, so I hold out... until then! ;) I enjoyed meeting Jason and Chloe! It was funny how Chloe fought Jason the whole time and then all of a sudden realized, yeah, he might be for me! LOL! and his nickname for her, Stardust, is just... perfection. :) I am not sure I would suggest this series to people as it's probably going to remain an unfinished series, or the next books will be few and far between. Not a lot of readers really like that type of scenario! And these books on audio would have to be for the hardcore listeners, because this Antony Ferguson really makes it difficult to listen to! ;) I'm hoping that Heather feels better come fall and winter and she can find it in her to write more Kings books! :)

I had finished this Warlock King book last night pretty late, and didn't want to review it but didn't want to doze listening to nothing, so I started my next book... and I have to say... right at this moment, it's not looking so hot... or sounding so hot... it's actually kind of terrible! LOL! We'll see!

Hello, hello! I'm here with my review of the first book in The Kings series by Heather Killough-Walden, narrated by someone I've not listened to before; Antony Ferguson. I have to address the fact that I've NOT listened to this particular reader before, therefore my rating on that fact is reflected in my only having given this book 3 stars. It's not THE only reason this book is just so-so for me- there are many reasons, LOL! But, there is an extremely thick british accent going on here in Mr. Ferguson that some phrasing and words just threw me off and, well, quite frankly, annoyed the shit out of me! LOL! And, I just has a little sneak peek at the person who reads the second book in this series, and it's the same reader, which is kinda disappointing! :( Ah well. I was thinking about not imbibing in the second book because of the reader and I thought maybe it is just 'first book syndrome' where subsequent books would be much better, but I just am not sure at this point.

Why didn't I really enjoy this book so much? Well, setting the fact that the reader bothered me a bit, the plot was extremely confusing. There was just SOOOO much information thrown at me at once and there are even parts to it, that I'm like Wha?! What the heck is going on!? LOL! The lore is slightly interesting but also extremely confusing and it like almost forces you to take mental notes, or even written notes! *snort* It was THAT... what's the word? It was that extreme. Wayyyy too much to tell us for just one single book. I understand Walden wants us to know the history of her vampires and the warlocks etc, but it just came off as too much, too fast, way too fucking confusing! And if vampires weren't enough to contemplate and attempt to "believe" in, she throws this warlock twist, so you have massive amounts of magic flying around, this strange plot and all this information you're supposed to absorb... it was just odd. And how the whole story started was like the middle of the actual story, then the plot backtracked and explained HOW that situation came to pass or? I don't know... I'm still flipping confused! LOL! I sincerely hope this next book isn't set up that way and doesn't flood us with too much information, because that made it very detached feeling. It felt like "all business", no fun. And certainly no connection between the two main characters. I understood Roman's passion, he was a vampire, but it all felt very on the surface and I didn't even really KNOW how Evie even felt half the time, she just came off as a fishing bobber floating on the water, going whichever way the current went. I never once felt like there was a real connection between Roman and Evie, it was very odd that they were boinking at the end. Sorry... that was a total spoiler. But I waited for-freaking-ever to even get to "wet panties" and then luckily the last fucking chapter, there was some sort of turgid member action going on. Gah. It was bad. I don't even think this deserves 3 stars, but I'm too lazy to change the rating! LOL! Anyway. I'm giving book a go tonight before bed, and if it sucks as bad as this one... well, you'll be hearing about it, internets! :P
