At one with the darkness, the mysterious Shadowdwellers must live as far from light-loving humans as possible in order to survive. Yet one damaged human woman will tempt the man behind the Shadowdweller throne into a dangerous desire...

Worlds Couldn't Keep Them Apart

Among the Shadowdwellers, Trace holds power that some are willing to kill for. Without a stranger's aid, one rival would surely have succeeded, but Trace's brush with death is less surprising to him than his reaction to the beautiful, fragile human who heals him. By rights, Trace should hardly even register Ashla's existence within the realms of Shadowscape, but instead he is drawn to everything about her—her innocence, her courage, and her lush, sensual heat.

After a terrifying car crash, Ashla Townsend wakes up to find that the bustling New York she knew is now eerie and desolate. Just when she's convinced she's alone, Ashla is confronted by a dark warrior who draws her deeper into a world she never knew existed. The bond between Ashla and Trace is a mystery to both, but searching for answers will mean confronting long-hidden secrets, and uncovering a threat that could destroy everything Trace holds precious.

Hello, hello! Here I am, back soooo soon! Well, I'm back because I've not only finished the first book of the Shadowdweller series by the lovely Jacquelyn Frank, but I've also taken a little nibble out of the new challenge that I'm taking part of; The 2013 Sequel Challenge by Auntie Spinelli Reads! How exciting is that?! Pretty cool *nod nod*! Anyway. So yeah... Ecstasy! Here we go~ as some of you may or may not know, in mid 2012, I had read another series by Frank called The Nightwalker Series, which took me a bit of a solid 1-2 books to get truly into, but by then, I was completely immersed and insanely into the books. There are 6 in the series, aptly named after the main male characters the books pertain to. The books were narrated by the oh-so-lovely Xe Sands and I had briefly wondered if she would be reading these lovely books as well, but alas, she did not! Instead, a reader I haven't had (I don't think!) the pleasure of listening to- Kirsten Potter, came onto the scene sounding as equally lovely and wonderful as the engagingly expressive Xe Sands, so it was quite the fantastic listen- this book! The characters were lush and wonderful and their culture and their "world" was completely encompassing! The Nightwalker series touched very slightly on the Shadowdwellers in the last couple of its books, so hearing all about them and being introduced to their way of life was enlightening and titillating! I absolutely ADORED this book- can you tell?! I so loved the main male character of Trace and completely loved his female counterpart; Ashla and I especially loved the tiny itty bitty mention of her being submissive to his dominance! I was just asking around why there were no paranormal romance books (that I've read or have been made aware of) that dealt in sub/dom... mostly it's those pesky "human" books that only deal in the subject. *shrug* Anyway, So yeah, I'll be very quickly starting the second book in this awesome series and I'm trying not to look ahead at the insert to see whom it's about, but I simply can't wait! I'm only super sad that there appear to only be 3 books currently, in this series. And I am going to devour the other two just as quickly as I did this one, I just know it! LOL!

This book gets from me, an outstanding:

So up next, undoubtedly:
